"Alberta Road Trip" - a Collection of Original Landscape Paintings

Pack your bags, choose your favourite snacks, and download your favourite playlist. We're going on a road trip!

Introducing the Alberta Road Trip Collection. A collection of 8 original paintings inspired by the beauty of Alberta's landscape.

There’s nothing quite like the freedom of exploring the vast beauty found in nature by road trip. Finding hidden gems tucked in untouched places, off the beaten path, driving through mountainside winding roads. Curating the perfect playlist and snack rotation, leaving completely refreshed and in awe of the memories created together.

Whether near or far, a quick escape, day-trip or a long adventure, time in nature is always the answer.

Each painting has been titled from a line in the self-written poem below:

"Let’s pause for this.

Be fully present, right now.

Through winding roads,

Endless, towering views

Soaking in this beauty,

Memorizing every last feeling.

Breathe in this freedom.

A refreshing escape.

These memories are precious."

It has been such a joy to create this collection of work. Creating paintings inspired by reference photos that have been collected from years past to present, from Kananaskis, Banff, and Jasper. I have drawn on my reserve of peace that only comes through nature and poured it into these paintings. Peaceful, meditative, restful joy.

I’ve created paintings inspired by Cascade Mountain, Sunwapta Falls, Peyto Lake, the Bow River in Banff, Kananaskis Lake, Barrier Lake, the road to Kananaskis, and the view on road to my house from the city.

Each of these were painted slowly and restfully, as each painting emerged through washy layers, and gestural brushstrokes over the last several months of Spring and Summer.  I enjoyed taking my time with each original, allowing them to drift through my creative studio spaces, carefully showing me the way to their completion.

They each capture the unique beauty of Alberta and it's diverse landscape from towering mountain peaks to wide open wavy prairies.

Original paintings are a witness of the hand of the artist and the unique way I see the world. A piece that carefully shows every detail, brush stroke, touch and trace left behind by the artists’ hands. Imperfectly perfect.

I have also been working on creating beautiful fine art prints from this collection. I’ve already created 4 and plan to release the rest in early 2024.

I am so grateful to share these original works of art with you, a part of my home in Alberta to your sacred spaces. Thank you for supporting my life’s work.

xo,

Rebecca
