December Studio Update

Oh what a wonderfully busy, beautiful month it's been! Thank you so much for your support during this tremendously full season.

I've painted so many custom ornaments, sent out all of your prints from my Black Friday sale, which might have been my best sale yet, and wrapped up the Christmas market season.

Although there were some hiccups, and missed steps, like Canada Post going on strike and a package I desperately needed just floating around some shipping warehouse. I wasn't able to complete a calendar this year, or release the Mountain Sketch original paintings I hoped to, I'm proud of the beauty I was able to offer you this season.

The good news is, the days don't actually end at the end of the calendar year and so I'll look forward to sharing these precious mountain sketches with you early in the New Year.

I'm already dreaming up my plans for 2025. I like to do a little annual review and plan the year ahead when I'll be sure to share more of those plans with you in January.

For now, I'm looking forward to cleaning and reorganizing my house, something that always gets neglected during busy seasons, decorating for Christmas, and spending some quiet quality time with my family during this magical season. One of my absolute favourite traditions is venturing out to the mountains to cut down a beautiful Christmas Tree.

December's Featured Original:

“Covered in Haze”

I have a bit of a funny story to share with you about this original watercolor. I recently sold and shipped this painting to a collector in California, but USPS never scanned the package when it made it's way across the border. My collector and I spent a month trying to track it down and decided it would be best if I could recreate it and send her a new painting. Well, the new painting and the painting I originally sent happened to make it to their destination one day apart from each other. I told her to choose her favourite, and send the other back to me. Although the painting I have available doesn't look exactly like this one pictured, it's a very close replica, with some slight improvements.

“Covered in Haze” is a vertical rectangular 16” x 20” original watercolour painting on 140lb pure cotton archival watercolour paper. This painting comes signed, varnished, and framed in an 18x24" sustainably sourced, solid oak frame, with a white archival mat, and durable museum grade, anti-glare acrylic plexiglass. It is ready to Ship!

Living in the forest has provided such a refuge for me and my boys. So much peace. So much serenity. From my home in the forests of Redwood Meadows, like a breath of fresh air, I’m so honoured to share this painting with you.

December's Featured Print:

"Bow Valley"

There’s a particular feeling in the Canadian Rocky Mountains as summer ends when whole world seems to sparkle in golden light and the days begin to shorten. They seem to usher in an end to the thrill and rest of summer. This is the view from the stunning drive in the Bow Valley between Banff and Canmore. This lovely print holds richly saturated colours that complement any home.

Art has a way of capturing a place in time, transporting you to a specific location, offering reverence to nature's beauty, and bringing nature's abundant peace and calm into your personal sanctuary.

Thank you for allowing me the space and ability to support my family with the things I create. I wish you a cozy season filled with the people you love most, as we usher in the peace and quiet contemplation of winter.

Thank you for your abundant support!

xo, Rebecca
