“A Horizon set out Before” - Square 10" x 10" x 1.5” Original Oil Painting
My painting journey began at the age of fourteen when I found my Mother’s set of old oil paints in the attic. What I first created was truly something horrific, but I didn’t let it stop me. I kept trying. i kept failing. I kept painting. And I fell in love!
I didn’t stop painting until I became a mother myself, with my twin boys. My hands, heart, and time were too full with very active, curious boys. But there was always a need in my life to create. One I knew I would return to.
When I learned about natural earth pigments and the ability to paint in non-toxic oil without worrying about little fingerprints, and heavy, toxic odours, my process completely changed.
This collection is a celebration of the beauty found in vast, colourful skies, but also, a celebration of oils. Earth and oil. Glorious, slippery, luxurious pigments.
Original oil tinted paintings on canvas. Created layer by layer to showcase the depth, beauty, and light of ever-changing, brilliant skies and vast spaces. Where Earth meets Sky.
