Tansy | Original Gouache Floral Painting
I love the feeling of walking through a meadow of grasses and wildflowers. As a child, I would wander through my grandmother’s fields and pick bouquets of wildflowers for my own mom.
Tansy is one of my very favourites that I didn’t know about until I moved to the forest. They’re a nice vibrant surprise that grows as summer comes to an end. They smell of chrysanthemums and look like tall, lush ferns.
This painting first began with a sketch, a transparent layer of watercolour, layers upon layers of gouache to get the colours just right, and then an ink sketch to complete the painting.
