Canada Anemone | Original Gouache Floral Painting
I love the feeling of walking through a meadow of grasses and wildflowers. As a child, I would wander through my grandmother’s fields and pick bouquets of wildflowers for my own mom.
Anemones are one of my very favourites! They grow wild in my front yard, and are one of the first to pop up in the Spring.
With such delicate beauty, I love to celebrate this beautiful, cheery wildflower.
This painting first began with a sketch, a transparent layer of watercolour, layers upon layers of gouache to get the colours just right, and then an ink sketch to complete the painting.
