Forget-Me-Nots | Original Gouache Floral Painting
I love the feeling of walking through a meadow of grasses and wildflowers. As a child, I would wander through my grandmother’s fields and pick bouquets of wildflowers for my own mom.
Forget-Me-Nots are one of my very favourites! They grow wild right in my front yard.
With such small, simple, delicate beauty, I love to celebrate this beautiful, cute wildflower.
This painting first began with a sketch, a transparent layer of watercolour, layers upon layers of gouache to get the colours just right, and then an ink sketch to complete the painting. This particular painting was also created using my very first handmade gouache paints from natural earth pigments.
This painting is the seventh of 20 gouache original Wildflower Paintings released at 10am MST each Wednesday.
Each of these wildflowers are found locally in Alberta.
